Jack Catterall boxes Harlem Eubank on July 5, as boxing insiders gave their predictions.

Catterall arrives into the fight with a loss to Arnold Barboza Jr. It was a massive setback, as it prevented him from becoming the WBO Interim Junior Welterweight Champion, thus depriving him of a title shot against Teofimo Lopez. It was also hard to stomach since Catterall had been robbed of the Undisputed Junior Welterweight Championship against Josh Taylor in their first fight. Catterall hasn’t fought at 147 since 2020, as he will face a tricky Harlem.

Eubank is undefeated with a 21-0 record. He has risen through the ranks under the guidance of Chris Eubank Sr. Harlem has been linked with a fight against Conor Benn after Chris Eubank Jr. gave him his first loss. But before that can happen, Harlem must get past his toughest test. He defeated Nurali Erdogan and Tyrone McKenna in his last two fights, as he hopes to add Catterall to that list.

Predictions

“Have to go with Catterall, who I believe will have more energy at welterweight and expect we will see an improvement in his work rate. Combined with his experiences, this makes him a big favorite for me,” Steve Wood, VIP Promotions

“This is a good testing fight for both. Jack Catterall has been there, done it, but may have seen better days, while Harlem Eubank is less experienced, on the rise, probably more hungry, undefeated and bigger. I’m going for the younger, more hungry Harlem Eubank to win on points in a close fight that can really go either way,” Wayne Alexander, Former British, European, world welterweight champion

“I don’t have much knowledge on Eubank, but Catterall moving up could be a good thing for him, as I’ve noticed some fading in several previous fights, so the additional 7lbs could help, but guys are bigger and stronger at the higher limit, so I look for a test or a coming out,” Abel Sanchez, World champion boxing trainer

“As a southpaw, Catterall has angles Eubank may struggle with. If he can keep it a boxing match and not get pulled into a fight with Eubank, then I believe Catterall should win this one,” Tyler Buxton, United Boxing Promotions
