Jake Paul Announces $15 Million Offer Was Rejected

Jake Paul claimed that a boxer turned down a substantial offer to fight him.

With a Nov. 14 fight against Gervonta Davis cancelled earlier this month, Paul will instead face Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight fight scheduled for Dec. 19 at Miami's Kaseya Center. Following the announcement, Paul called out Tommy Fury for rejecting a rematch of their 2023 encounter.

"Respect due to all the fighters that said yes. We had to put all options on the table and make a decision," Paul wrote. "Guess who didn’t say yes even for $15M. (Expletive) made you and your father are, who controls everything you do. You are not a man. You are a boy. Daddy’s little boy."

Fury responded

Fury confirmed that Paul was referring to him when he shared a different perspective. The 26-year-old claimed that Paul made an insincere offer that he knew the British boxer could not accept.

"Offering me the fight in America… a place you know I can’t get to right now. Convenient," Fury wrote with laughing emojis. "Offer me the same $15M anywhere else in the world and I’ll be there in 8 weeks to shut you the (expletive) up and repeat what I did the first time.
And ‘daddy’s little boy’? If anyone’s a son here it’s you… I gave you your first L."

Fury withdrew from two scheduled fights against Paul before the two met in Saudi Arabia two years ago. The half-brother of Tyson Fury defeated the YouTube personality by split decision.

After more than 18 months away from the ring, Tommy Fury returned to beat Kenan Hanjalic by unanimous decision in April.

Paul and Davis were scheduled to headline a Netflix event last Friday, but the exhibition fight was cancelled. An ex-girlfriend filed a lawsuit against Davis last month, accusing the WBA lightweight champion of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Paul will instead fight Joshua, who is 100 pounds heavier than Davis, in a sanctioned heavyweight boxing match. The former two-time unified WBO, IBF, and WBA heavyweight champion is 28-4 with 25 knockout victories, but Joshua lost his last fight by knockout to Daniel Dubois on Sept. 21, 2024.

Paul enters the match with a 12-1 professional boxing record. He won't get a chance to avenge his loss to Fury yet.
