Jake Paul began the verbal assault of his next opponent, promising to "embarrass" Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. during the bout's launch press conference on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Both men will be looking to follow up on wins in their latest appearances in the ring when the YouTube star turned professional boxer squares off with the former WBC middleweight world champion on June 28 in Anaheim, Calif.

Paul, 28, earned an eight-round unanimous victory over boxing legend Mike Tyson, 58, last November. In his first fight in three years -- and first as a cruiserweight -- Chavez, 39, defeated ex-UFC fighter Uriah Hall last July.

"I'm gonna shock the world once again and prove how good I am, how powerful I am," Paul said at the press conference. "This is his toughest fight to date, and I'm going to embarrass him and make him quit like he always does."

Paul also responded to the comments from Chavez's father, the legendary former boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., who said, "I've gone to see Julio train twice, and I've been truly impressed. Never in my life have I seen him train as hard as he is for this fight.

"And if he keeps going like this, I told him there's no doubt in my mind he's going to beat Jake Paul."

In reply, Paul said "I'm gonna expose (Chavez Jr.) and I'm gonna embarrass him. He's the embarrassment of Mexico. Mexico doesn't claim him."

The fight scheduled for the Honda Center will be Paul's 13th since his boxing debut in 2020. The "Problem Child" is 11-1 (seven knockouts), with his sole loss coming against Tommy Fury in February 2023. Chavez Jr. is 54-6-1 with 34 KOs.
