NEW YORK — Jarrell Miller earned a split-decision victory over Kingsley Ibeh on Saturday night, but the scorecards quickly became secondary to a moment that hijacked the internet: Miller’s man weave getting knocked loose mid-fight.
The stunning and undeniably hilarious scene unfolded in the second round, when Ibeh’s upward shots dislodged Miller’s hairpiece. As the round wound down, the wig flopped atop Miller’s head. By the time he reached his corner, Miller realized it was hanging on by a thread, ripped it off, and flung it into the crowd.
Moments later, the runaway hair found a ringside perch next to an empty chair beside Fabio Wardley, drawing laughs and cameras. Former featherweight titleholder Skye Nicolson was nearby and couldn’t resist the photo op.
“This is life. When you get old, s*** happens,” a self-deprecating Miller told The Ring afterward, ice pack pressed to his newly exposed scalp. “It was a tough night. I don’t know what’s tougher Ibeh or this s***. All I can say is, in life, try to get your woman when you have some hair. You have to keep laughing, keep smiling, and keep having fun.”
The besmirched Brooklyn native explained the sudden follicular fiasco as the result of mistakenly using an unknown shampoo at his mother’s house just two days before his showcase bout on The Ring 6 at Madison Square Garden.

As for the 10-rounder itself, Miller eventually seized control after the mishap, as Ibeh’s gas tank faded faster than Miller’s hairline. Miller (27-1-2, 22 KOs) was fighting for the first time in 15 months after a string of cancellations wiped out his 2025 plans.
“I definitely had ring rust,” Miller said. “You could see me falling over with the jab and slipping a little. The more active I am, the better. Kingsley fought twice last year I didn’t.”
He also pointed back to his August 2024 majority draw with Andy Ruiz Jr., a fight Miller believes he won. “I had a good performance there. Tonight was rough against a guy who was active. I dug deep, threw punches, and got the win.”
“Big Baby” even floated a playful callout of Wardley likening the Brit to an eligible bachelor who caught the garter… or, in this case, the man weave. Don’t expect negotiations to split hairs, though.
“Fabio said he wanted to fight in America,” Miller said. “He might think tonight was ugly, but this is boxing. He’s had ugly nights before. Let’s make it happen.”
For now, Miller is focused on the reset. “It feels good to be back. I know what I need to improve on,” he said. “I’m going to Thailand for two months, get in better shape… heal up, try to grow a little bit of hair back, and get back in the ring.”
