On Saturday, Queensberry Promotions hosts a heavyweight main event from the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, UK. It’ll be a crossroads battle appropriately titled “Heavy Impact” as Joe Joyce (16-3, 15 KOs) will take on Filip Hrgovic (17-1, 14 KOs) in a scheduled ten-round bout.
The 39-year-old Joyce from London went 1-1 last year with his July fight being a unanimous decision loss to Derek Chisora. After suffering two brutal stoppages against Zhilei Zhang in 2023, things have declined a bit for Joyce. This may be the last hope for Joyce to get himself into the heavyweight title mix again, but he must go through Hrgovic to do so.
On the other hand, Hrgovic from Zagreb, Croatia, is coming off a June loss against Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title. He recently mentioned being ill coming into fight night, so he will have to turn in a big performance against Joyce if he wants that reasoning to get over with the fans. Is Hrgovic durable enough to get past Joyce?
Per DraftKings SportsBook, Filip Hrgovic is the favorite at -370, and Joe Joyce is the underdog at +275.
Joe Joyce: TKO/KO +475; Decision +800
Draw: +1800
Filip Hrgovic: TKO/KO -125; Decision +260
These timings could change due to the length of the undercard fights.
