Johnny Fisher looks to take another quantum leap in his boxing career when he fights Ukrainian heavyweight Andriy Rudenko at the Copper Box Arena in London on Sept. 28. The fight will air live globally on the DAZN network. This looks like it will be a big fight. Fisher, the unbeaten heavyweight prospect from Romford, London Borough, is determined to extend his knockout run after stopping Croatia’s Alen Babic in round 1.
Johnny Fisher, 25, came from a relatively unknown stature. He has 11 knockouts to his name. Fisher recently knocked out Alen Babic in East London. Fisher is set to fight Rudenko, who is 36-7 with 22 knockouts.
Fisher understands the challenge ahead and knows Rudenko is likely his toughest opponent yet.
There will also be world title fight action as Rhiannon Dixon will take her WBO Lightweight World Title and put it on the line against Terri Harper. Originally from Warrington, Dixon secured the WBO strap via a 10-round points win against Karen Elizabeth Carabajal. It was on the same card last April where Zelfa Barrett beat Jordan Gill. Dixon is undefeated in 10 fights with one knockout.
Harper comes from Denaby Main and will be participating in the world championships for the second time. The former Super Featherweight and Super Welterweight world champion aims to return following his loss to WBO Welterweight champion Sandy Ryan in March via a stoppage. Currently, Harper is 14-2-2 and aims to become a world champion again in this thrilling British duel.
There also are some solid undercard fights. A 10-round flyweight clash features Liverpool’s Peter McGrail against former British and Commonwealth Super Bantamweight champ Brad Foster for the WBA International Title. McGrail has nine wins, five by knockout. Foster is 15-3-2 in his career.
From the Blyth Lightweight division, Cameron Vuong goes up against Joe Underwood Hughes. Middleweight George Liddard seeks to win his ninth fight. Other participants on the card are super featherweight prospect Giorgio Visioli, Birmingham lightweight Ibraheem Sulaimaan, Brentwood middleweight Jimmy Sains, Welsh Swansea featherweight Brandon Scott, and Durham super bantamweight Josh Babb.
With this card, the Copper Box Arena will be the place to be on Sept. 28th. The crowd can look for Fisher to keep chasing after his knockouts record.
