Anthony Joshua has paid tribute to two of his closest friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, who were killed in a car accident in Nigeria late last year.

The heavyweight was involved in a car crash on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Nigeria on December 29, 2025. While Joshua escaped with minor physical injuries, the accident tragically claimed the lives of his strength and conditioning coach, Sina Ghami, and his trainer, Latif “Latz” Ayodele.

And now Joshua has gotten a tattoo as a tribute. Fulham Tattoo studio revealed that Joshua visited unannounced for his first session with them. The former two-time world champion chose to have the names “LATZ” and “SINA” tattooed on his right arm.

“Huge thank you to two-time heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua for unexpectedly and unannounced walking through the door a few weeks ago for his first visit with us at Fulham Tattoo London… what a walk in,” Fulham Tattoo studio said

The boxing world also continues to wait for news on Anthony Joshua, but promoter Eddie Hearn has warned fans that “no guarantees” exist for the former two-time champion’s return. Although he has shared training clips, Hearn emphasized that returning to a full professional camp is a massive undertaking.

Joshua’s Future

This has raised doubts over a potential Tyson Fury fight that had been talked about prior to the accident. The Gypsy King has also recently announced his return from retirement to face Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 live on Netflix. For now, it is too early to tell what Joshua will do next.

“He is keeping himself busy. Physically, he is getting himself over the injuries that he suffered. They are not injuries that will affect him long-term moving forward. But they are injuries that will take time. ‘Boxing is a tough and rough sport. You can’t just go back in camp with injuries like that and I do not know when or even if he will go back into camp. ‘At the moment, there is no conversation or no need to have a conversation about that. ‘AJ will always train. Do not forget that boxing changed his life forever and he will never leave the gym,” Hearn stated
