Keyshawn Davis boxes Edwin De Los Santos on June 7 as we look at how the fight could play out.

Davis defends his WBO Lightweight Title for the first time following his knockout win against Denys Berinchyk to secure the title. De Los Santos secured the title shot after Keyshawn’s links with Isaac Cruz and Gervonta Davis never materialized into a fight. Cruz boxed at 140 for his last fight, while Tank is expected to rematch Lamont Roach Jr.

De Los Santos has another world title shot immediately following his last fight. He missed out on the WBC Lightweight Title after suffering a unanimous decision loss in 2023 against Shakur Stevenson. De Los Santos was criticized for not being able to cut the ring off. De Los Santos has 14 knockouts in his 16 wins, as he will have to show that power to get Keyshawn’s respect.

Key Battles

Davis likes to establish his jab early on to control the distance and land his power shots from behind it. However, he also has the ability to box and move, given his ability to slip shots. De Los Santos is known for being a front foot fighter, which will give Keyshawn chances to land, provided he does not get caught himself.

The two fighters also have big power. Keyshawn likes to work his angles before landing combinations. He has a 13-0 record, with nine knockouts to his name. He has stopped three out of his last four opponents, while he can easily move up to 140 or above, with suggestions he is a weight bully.

De Los Santos is also a knockout artist. However, that will depend on if he can cut the ring off. De Los Santos is known for throwing flurries, while his losses have been on the scorecards, showing he can take a punch.

Keyshawn will fight in his home crowd of Norfolk, Virginia. Davis produced the goods in his last fight to win the WBO belt in front of his home crowd. However, De Los Santos has the incentive to win to show that his Shakur performance was a one-off. But De Los Santos’ lack of activity may hinder him, setting the narrative for an intriguing fight.
