YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul may have picked up the biggest win of his young professional boxing career on Friday with a unanimous decision win over Mike Tyson.
Though it came some 20-plus years after Tyson’s prime, the former WBC, WBA, IBF and The Ring heavyweight champion is the biggest name on Paul’s resume, which includes wins over former MMA stars Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren.
But as Paul was celebrating one of the biggest moments of his career in the ring, his brother Logan unintentionally crashed it.
As the scorecards were being announced, Logan, who was standing directly behind Jake, started spraying a yellow can of W body spray, a paraben and sulfate-free odor-blocking deodorant created and sold by Jake, Logan knocked his hat off and prompted some on social media to claim the elder Paul brother was trying to upstage his sibling.
Logan took to Instagram to refute those claims and issue Jake an apology.
“I was just trying to help Jake promote his W body spray,” Logan said. “My enthusiasm and my poor motor skills got the best of me. I knocked his hat off from the back, it fell to the floor, I felt so stupid. Jake, I’m sorry I ruined one of the biggest moments of your life, but guess what buddy? You smelled great thanks to me.”
Regardless of his brother’s antics, Jake got his moment in the sun.
The 27-year-old celebrated earning a win over a boxer as accomplished as Tyson, thanking the Hall of Fame fighter for stepping in the ring with him.
After the fight, Jake let everyone know who he was eyeing next: former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor. Jake challenged the Irishman to an MMA fight in whatever division he wanted. McGregor promptly shot down Jake’s request.
