Manny Pacquiao has reacted to fresh rumors of a blockbuster rematch with Floyd Mayweather in his return to the ring next year.
Initially expected to make another charge for welterweight world championship spoils, Manny Pacquiao snapped his retirement from boxing earlier this summer.
And forcing Mario Barrios the distance in a draw result, Pacquiao was tied to a WBA welterweight pursuit after his bid to reclaim the WBC title fell short.
However, with reports linking him to a rematch with Floyd Mayweather potentially under the banner of Netflix, the Filipino native has shared his thoughts on the pairing next.
According to recent reports, global streaming service Netflix were exploring the possibility of hosting a showdown between Pacquiao and Mayweather, nearly 11 years after their first pairing.
And off the back of reports detailing how a professional boxing match was being explored, talks on a Pacquiao title charge against gold holder Rolly Romero were put on the back burner.
However, when asked about his interest in fighting Mayweather, particularly in his immediate return to the ring, Pacquiao refused to give too much away.
“I’ve been motivated since after the [first] fight [with Floyd Mayweather],” Pacquiao said of a rematch during an interview with The Sun. “Because after the [shoulder] operation, I’m okay. I get back to the ring and fight again.

“Right now, God is good, he is giving me strength so I can continue my career as a boxer.
“It depends,” Pacquiao said of a rematch with Mayweather next. “I’m a fighter, so I’m not ducking anybody.”
Ahead of his return to the ring next year, whether against Mayweather or a different opponent, Pacquiao has taken on a new role in the industry.
Announced as the vice president of IBA (International Boxing Association), Pacquiao was immediately asked about his chances of fighting for an inaugural welterweight title under the governing body’s scrutiny.
And as far as the IBA Pro Series’ director is concerned, a pairing between Pacquiao and Mayweather for the first crown is more than possible.
