On Saturday, September 21, at Wembley Stadium, Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) will meet for the IBF world heavyweight title in the main event of a Riyadh Season card. Fight fans can catch the action on DAZN PPV, TNT Sports PPV, PPV.com and Sky Sports Box Office. On the undercard, we will see another appearance from the unbeaten British lightweight star and favourite fighter of Turki Alalshikh, Mark Chamberlain. On the latest edition of the Big Fight Weekend preview podcast, Dan Rafael has revealed what’s likely next for “Thunder.”
The dramatic rise of Chamberlain began with his appearance on the undercard of Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou where he comprehensively defeated Gavin Gwynne by fourth-round TKO. He followed this up with a first-round TKO win over Joshua Oluwaseun Wahab. What impressed in both of these fights was the exceptional hand speed of the Portsmouth native and how he varied his attacks between the head and body of his opponents. September 21 could change the life of this 25-year-old contender.
Speaking on the Big Fight Weekend preview show, Rafael spoke on what could be next for Chamberlain, should he win on Saturday: “The main thing you should know about it is this. Mark Chamberlain is the favourite fighter of Turki Alalshikh. He is hand-picked to be on these cards, both in Saudi Arabia and this card here in Wembley, because he is Turki’s favourite fighter.”
Rafael continued: “Although this is not official, I am told by multiple sources that if Mark Chamberlain wins this fight, and all is well health wise that he will be on the Tyson Fury-Oleksandr Usyk II undercard – and he will be challenging Denys Berinchyk for the WBO title.”
He added: “He’s got the Berinchyk fight right there in his palm with a victory.”
