A boxing card featuring Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) vs. Jermaine Franklin (24-2, 15 KOs) as the main event has been announced for January 24.
Their bout takes place on a Queensberry Promotions event billed as “The Magnificent Seven” at the Co-op Live in Manchester, England. Fight fans around the world will be able to catch the action live on DAZN.
Itauma had been scheduled to fight on a card proposed for December 13. However, an opponent could not be found for that date and his ring return was ultimately pushed back. Fight fans will not have to wait long for Itauma’s return as Franklin has stepped in to face him on January 24.
Itauma fought twice in 2025. The first of those two fights was against Mike Balogun on the undercard of Josh Taylor vs. Ekow Essuman in Scotland. Itauma needed just two rounds to score the technical knockout victory. He returned later in the year to face Dillian Whyte in Saudi Arabia. Itauma proved his fellow Brit was not on the same level as him by getting the technical knockout win in under two minutes.
Franklin had just one fight in 2025, but it was on the undercard of possibly the biggest boxing event of the year. He faced Ivan Dychko on a card that saw Terence Crawford become the undisputed super middleweight world champion. Franklin defeated the Kazakh via unanimous decision.
“We are thrilled to be delivering such a strong Magnificent 7 bounty for the fans in our first UK show of 2026,” said Frank Warren in a press release. “It is a statement of intent for the New Year and a sign of things to come.”
“We are delighted with what we have put together across 2025 in tandem with our new broadcast partner DAZN, but we have the scope to go bigger and further in 2026, which we will do and make it a landmark year for the sport.”
“This show will also effectively celebrate my 45th year in the professional business and I believe this card certainly does justice to the occasion and I am very happy to have our heavyweight prodigy Moses topping the bill in another perfect test of his unquestionable credentials against a very tough American in Jermaine Franklin[e].”
Six other fights were also announced in the press release in addition to the Itauma-Franklin main event. Willy Hutchinson (19-2, 14 KOs) will take on Ezra Taylor (13-0, 9 KOs) in a light heavyweight bout. At featherweight, Zak Miller (17-1, 3 KOs) faces Liam Davies (17-1, 8 KOs). Shakiel Thompson (15-0, 11 KOs) will face Brad Pauls (20-2-1, 11 KOs) in a middleweight contest. Nathan Heaney (19-1-1, 6 KOs) takes on Gerome Warburton (16-2-2, 2 KOs) at middleweight. At lightweight, Alex Murphy (14-2, 0 KOs) will face Josh Holmes (17-0, 6 KOs). Another lightweight clash sees Aqib Fiaz (14-1, 2) take on Jordan Flynn (12-1-1, 2).
