On Sunday, September 14, at the Aichi International Arena in Nagoya, Naoya Inoue will defend his undisputed super bantamweight title against Murodjon Akhmadaliev.
This fight has been anticipated for some time and is finally taking place. Inoue (30-0, 27 KOs) was last seen in action on May 4, 2025, against Ramon Cardenas, surviving a second-round knockdown to stop the American fighter in the eighth round.
Akhmadaliev (14-1, 11 KOs) has won all three fights since losing to Marlon Tapales in 2023. Eddie Hearn has repeatedly accused Inoue of ducking Akhmadaliev, but now his fighter finally gets his chance.
