Nick Ball has a promising future in boxing. Born on 28 February 1997, Ball has remained active in the sport and currently he holds the WBA featherweight title. The English professional boxer has held this title since last year.

“Nick Ball gives such value for money. That boy just gets in the ring and he fights and fights non stop. Aggression. I’d go as far as to say I think Nick Ball is the fittest fighter in the country. He’s relentless. He’s literally the Tasmanian devil. He is all over you, he is not letting you off the hook. He fights fire with fire. He’s a fan’s favourite. And as a watch for pure excitement, I’d go as far as saying he’s the most exciting fighter in this country. I can’t see past him. Now what you want is you want to match him with really good boxers. So, we’ve seen him with Raymond Ford where he beat him for the world title,” opines Tony Bellew.

Ball turned professional in 2017 and accumulated a 19–0 record before facing WBC featherweight champion Rey Vargas on 8 March 2024. The bout ended as a split draw with Vargas retaining his belt.

On March 15, Nick Ball and TJ Doheny will face off in a seven-fight boxing card. The bout is headlined by the featherweight title clash where Ball will be squaring it out with Doheny. Ball will be making a second defense of his WBA World Featherweight Title

Ball is trained by Paul Stevenson in the Everton Red Triangle gym. The 27-year-old boxer hadn't earlier been propelled fully into the spotlight, but he insisted the time was right on the biggest stage of all to showcase his combination of skills as well as destructive viciousness.

In May 2023, Ball clashed with the undefeated South African Ludumo Lamati in a third defense of his crown in Belfast. A tough fight ensued before Lamati was eventually edged out in the 12th round and unfortunately ended up in hospital after collapsing in the ropes.

“You’ve seen in them two fights, with the Vargas and the Ford fights, even in a loss with one of them, it’s still an unbelievable fight and a win that can go either way. Against boxers, he’s unbelievably good. And that should be his real weakness. That should be his kryptonite facing boxers. But because he’s so committed and because he’s so good at what he does, he makes them fight. They all end up fighting in his fight, and his fights are just fireworks,” said Tony Bellew during an exclusive interview with the CasinoBeats.

Nick Ball has remained steadfast taking the featherweight division by storm and the world is starting to notice the fearless stocky puncher with a toothpaste smile.

The destroying Ball from Liverpool believed it is high time the whole boxing public got to know what he is all about. Since, in his own view, he is in a league of his own when it comes to the nine-stoners.

“I love watching him mate and I can’t wait to see him back. You think we’ll ever see the rematch with Rey Vargas? He hasn’t fought since then. It’s one of them where inactivity is gonna do him the world of damage,” said Tony Bellew.
