On Saturday, December 21, Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) will meet once again in their eagerly anticipated rematch at the Kingdom Arena, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight titles. It’s been a build-up full of opinions, but there’s no doubt Fury and Usyk both look ready to clash in the Kingdom for the second time. Ahead of fight night, the unified champion spoke to DAZN’s Ade Oladipo about whether he was the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, the Ukrainian star named American fighter Terence “Bud” Crawford while revealing where he sees himself on that P4P list.
Becoming an undisputed champion at cruiserweight and heavyweight will solidify any fighter’s legacy, and Usyk has achieved both of these feats. These achievements see him appear on many pound-for-pound lists. When speaking to Ade, the current unified champ gave a modest self ranking, while praising Crawford: “For me, pound-for-pound number one is Terence Crawford,” Usyk said. “I like this man, he’s a great fighter.”
He added, ranking himself among the best: “For me, maybe I’m number 17.”
