Today’s weigh-in revealed two interesting facts about both Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois. Both fighters are coming in heavier than they did with their previous fight against each other.
Oleksandr Usyk (WBO, WBA, WBC, and The Ring heavyweight champion) weighs in at 227.3 lbs. That’s the heaviest of his career, narrowly surpassing his previous high of 226 lbs from his rematch with Tyson Fury. This slight weight increase may suggest that Usyk is aiming to absorb more punishment, plant his feet more, or trade punches more confidently against the naturally larger Dubois. Daniel Dubois (IBF heavyweight champion) 243.8 lbs which is 10 lbs heavier than when he fought Usyk the first time (233.8). But 5 lbs lighter than his last fight (248.8), a KO win over Anthony Joshua.

Usyk is out to prove that he still has not slowed down and that he is still the man that reigns supreme in the heavyweight division. Usyk is out to prove that he still has not slowed down and that he is still the man that reigns supreme in the heavyweight division.
Dubois is out to prove that the first fight controversy was not a fluke. For the second fight for the rematch he is looking to take any influence from a referee or a judge out of the equation. He is looking to stop Usyk and to start a new era in the heavyweight division. Oozing with super confidence, Dubois honestly believes that this is his time to reign supreme as the new king of heavyweight boxing. We expect fireworks from this fight. It can go the distance, but I’m not anticipating on that to happen. I feel like this fight is not going to go past the 8th round.
