Edgar Berlanga seemed to be on cloud nine this whole week leading up to the fight. Berlanga was trash-talking everybody that would listen to him. He told Hamzah Sheeraz that “I’m your Canelo”.  He was telling Sheeraz that the plans that Turki has for him will not happen because he’s going to knock him out.

Oscar De La Hoya Then he gets to the press conference and tries to embarrass Oscar De La Hoya. He throws a wig and some lingerie at Oscar. Clearly mocking De La Hoya from his infamous photo of him being intoxicated and taking a picture in lingerie and a wig.

He also proceeded to throw money at Oscar saying “you’re my stripper”. Oscar fired back and said “you can’t afford me” and that “your jewelry is fake”. Also calling Berlanga a fake Puerto Rican.

Without a doubt it was pretty clear that Edgar Berlanga felt like he was going to be the guy who was going to pass the test on Saturday. He kept telling the media how he plans on making two fights at heavyweight and that he wants Canelo.

Then the fight happens. Edgar Berlanga got absolutely dominated by Sheeraz. He was knocked down twice in the fourth round, was saved by the bell. But the bell couldn’t set him in the fifth round when Shiraz dropped him again and finally finished him. What an embarrassing way to go out. Berlanga needs to go back to the drawing board and get back in line because his opportunity has now passed him for the time being.

Oscar De La Hoya claps back

Oscar De La Hoya decided to go to social media and mock Berlanga. By wearing that wig that Berlanga threw at him at the press conference. Adding insult to injury. Oscar De La Hoya seems to be in a few altercations altercations lately.

“Sheeraz congratulations. Bumlanga, oh my god, you got knocked out! Oh, something Canelo Alveroids couldn’t do”. Clearly taking a shot at Canelo Alvarez as well.
