O’Shaquie Foster is targeting a fight with Shakur Stevenson, stating he wants to “humble” the three-division champion.
While Stevenson prepares for his 140-pound debut against Teofimo Lopez this Saturday, Foster is using the momentum from his December 2025 victory over Stephen Fulton to press for a bout. Foster has previously claimed that he “whooped” Shakur during their past sparring sessions. Foster alleges that Stevenson “ran out of the gym.”
Foster officially vacated his newly won WBC interim lightweight (135 lbs) title after the Fulton win to remain at junior lightweight (130 lbs). He is currently targeting the winner of the February 28 unification between Eduardo “Sugar” Nuñez and Emanuel Navarrete. Foster believes that becoming undisputed at 130 lbs will allow him to face Stevenson at 135 or 140.
“That’s my #1 focus as far as by the end of my career that’s who I need to put hands on, that’s Shakur, for sure. “It’s the fake stuff, the friendly coming to my inbox trying to be friendly but playing both sides with me and Savage [Ford]. Just a lot.
“He play like he so good, better than everybody, talking about how much money he make and this and that. Even after the fight the fans was asking for the fight, he go on Instagram talking about ‘I make this amount, go starve’ and all that goofy sh-t. So, I want to humble him. I’m going to show him, for sure,” Foster said
Shakur has said he will drop back down to 135 after the Lopez fight. Foster may well be one of those names he could target, especially if he cannot secure the big names at lightweight. Stevenson has already moved on from Gervonta Davis, stating that he is no longer on his radar. The pair had been linked with a fight, only for Davis’ team to continuously shut that down. However, Shakur’s plans also depend on what happens in the Lopez fight. A win over Lopez may well encourage Shakur to stay 140 or even consider if 147 is a possibility.
