On Saturday, March 19, 1994, Undefeated Herbie “The Dancing Destroyer” Hide challenged WBO heavyweight champion Michael Bentt for Bentt‘s title at The New Den, London, England. The build-up to the fight saw an ugly altercation at a photoshoot just eight days before the fight.

Trouble Before Fight Night
Eight days before fight night, Hide and Bentt went toe-to-toe outside the Sheraton Park Tower Hotel in London. The scrap made global news and left both fighters with cuts and bruises and the reputation of boxing in the gutter. This pre-fight photoshoot altercation ensured tensions were high when fight night arrived. Hide came into the bout having defeated American Jeff Lampkin by second-round TKO – while Bentt stunned Tommy Morrison by first-round TKO in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“The Dancing Destroyer” was first to the punch from the start of the fight, with his power seemingly affecting Bentt. He was known for throwing every punch with venom, and this fight was no different as he knocked down his opponent in the third round.
The London born fighter tried to get a foothold in round seven – but fell victim to an aggressive, heavy combination from Hide that sent him crashing to the canvas, with the referee quickly waving off the fight, with Bentt unable to continue. The knockout was a reflection of Hide’s dominance, with his opponent subsequently hospitalised and unable to fight again.

Following the win against Bentt, Hide boxed Riddick Bowe and was boxing well, but Bowe soon got a foothold in the fight, and his power and class soon shone through as he floored “The Dancing Destroyer” six times before winning by KO in round six. The Nigerian-born Brit won back the WBO strap against Tony Tucker on June 28 1997, before losing it to Vitali Klitschko two years later. Hide’s last professional bout was at the York Hall against Wayne Brooks in the Prizefighter 11 cruiserweight quarter-final, which he won. He later withdrew from the competition following a bad cut sustained in the clash against Brooks.

Golden State Warriors Predicted to Land $70 Million Sharpshooter in Jonathan Kuminga Trade
The Golden State Warriors have had an underwhelming offseason thus far and the main headline surrounding the franchise remains the future of young forward Jonathan Kuminga. Kuminga remains a restricted free agent and after falling out of Steve Kerr’s rotation last season, his role entering next season is up in the air. Due to this, many believe that Kuminga’s time in Golden State is set to come to an end this offseason but the young forward is still deciding on what his next move will be, which will also be reliant on the Warriors due to them likely having to move him in a sign-and-trade deal. With Kuminga’s time in Golden State likely nearing an end, Sports Illustrated’s Jackson Caudell and Rohan Raman recently came up with a three-team mock trade that would send Kuminga to the Phoenix Suns. In the trade, the Suns would receive Kuminga and Moses from the Warriors and they would send Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neal and an unprotected 2032 first-round pick to Golden State. The Atlanta Hawks are the third team in this mock trade and they would acquire Nick Richards from Phoenix. This would be an interesting move for the Warriors as they would not only be moving on from a young player in Kuminga, but Moses Moody as well. Despite this, adding a sharpshooting guard in Grayson Allen, who also excels on the defensive end, could be a massive boost that the Warriors need. O’Neal would also give the Warriors a solid scorer and defender at the forward position that would allow them to upgrade their bench. By making this move, the Warriors would get older as they would swap two young players for two veterans but the additions of Allen and O’Neal, along with potential free agent signings, could help them compete for a title next season with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler leading the way.
One Specific Canadian Team Remains in Advanced Talks For Top Remaining Free Agent
The Vancouver Canucks have a major need down the middle this season, and according to Rick Dhaliwal, the team remain in contact with the top remaining free agent Jack Roslovic. Free agency in the NHL this off-season came and went fairly quickly, and while most of the big names are off the board, there are still some intriguing names remaining to all 32 teams. Perhaps the biggest of those names is former Carolina Hurricanes centre Jack Roslovic, and according to Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal, he remains in contact with the Vancouver Canucks as training camp approaches. It's unclear just how close the two parties could potentially be getting to a deal, but according to Cam Robinson, the players camp is looking for a multi-year deal with an asking price at just over $3 million per season. Given that the Canucks currently have Aatu Raty slated to play the third line this season, they have a clear need down the middle, and after tallying 22 goals and 39 points a season ago in a similar role with Carolina, he'd be the perfect addition for their middle-six. At 28-years of age with over 500 NHL games under his belt thus far, Roslovic fits the age range for what the Canucks should be seeking as well, and if they're willing to meet his price, there's no reason for a deal not to get done here. Ultimately, Roslovic is the top remaining centre in free agency, so any team out there looking for help could fit him in at 2-3 years for a $3 million salary cap hit, but as of right now, all signs point to him playing a key role with Vancouver in 2025/26.
Dallas Wings Waive Grace Berger Following Debut Against Seattle Storm
The Dallas Wings have waived guard Grace Berger. The move comes just one day after Berger made her Wings debut in Tuesday’s 87–63 win over the Seattle Storm. Signed to a seven-day hardship contract on July 17, Berger logged four rebounds, two assists, and one block in 10 minutes off the bench in Seattle. Her appearance marked her first WNBA game since playing for the Indiana Fever earlier this season. Before suiting up for Dallas, Berger expressed optimism about the opportunity. “I think they’re an up-and-coming team,” Berger told DallasHoopsJournal.com before the All-Star break. “There are a lot of young players mixed with some good vets that I’ve been watching and playing against for a couple of years. I’m excited to be on their team and learn from them—people like Arike [Ogunbowale], obviously, there’s a lot to learn from her.” Though her time with Dallas was brief, Berger brought a poised presence to the floor and contributed during key second-quarter minutes when the Wings were climbing out of an early deficit. Berger, Indiana’s former No. 7 overall pick in 2023, remains a candidate for future hardship or reserve opportunities around the league. In 28 career WNBA games, she has averaged 2.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per contest. Dallas (7–17) returns to action Friday night against the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center. Tampa Bay Rays Slip Three Spots in MLB Power Rankings
In their last 10 games, the Tampa Bay Rays have gone 4-6 and watched the Toronto Blue Jays overtake the New York Yankees atop the American League East Division. While the Rays would love to be in the Blue Jays' position, that's not happening anytime soon. What Tampa Bay needs, besides an improving offense, is pitching help. The Rays might be getting some good news with Shane McClanahan returning to the rotation. But the team's recent struggles are reflected in the latest MLB Power Rankings from The Athletic. This week, the Rays slipped down to No. 12 after being in the No. 9 slot. Chad Jennings of The Athletic offers some perspective on what's happening with Tampa Bay at this time. "Is Shane McClanahan the sport’s biggest trade deadline addition?" Jennings wrote. "No one is suggesting the Rays are going to trade McClanahan, but they should get him back off the IL right around the trade deadline. Tampa Bay Rays looking for Shane McClanahan to get back into pitching rotation very soon, just in time for postseason push "That’s a potential ace joining a team on the playoff bubble," Jennings wrote. "And if McClanahan is at his best, he could push the Rays into a wild card spot with a rotation that should worry everyone — McClanahan, Drew Rasmussen, Ryan Pepiot, Zack Littell, Shane Baz — along with a sneaky good offense that’s top five in the AL in runs per game. "Adding a homegrown ace to fuel a second-half playoff run would be one of the most Rays things imaginable," Jennings wrote. "And it could happen (or they could sell at the deadline and try again next year)." Rays fans, though, got some bad news about McClanahan on Tuesday. According to Rays TV reporter Ryan Bass, the team is pushing back McClanahan's scheduled rehab start on Thursday due to a sore bicep. Rays manager Kevin Cash addressed the issue as well before Tuesday's game. "He's frustrated, rightfully so, because he wants to be here," Cash said. "He wants to help us, so he could get a ball right back in his hand in the next two or three days. "Generally, when we're talking about bicep tendonitis, that clears up pretty quick...it was more the build up and some fatigue that crept in there," Cash said. "We do not think that it is nerve related to the tricep. It's total opposite side with everything." McClanahan took to X on Tuesday and posted his own comments directed toward the Rays' fans. "Rays fans. I know you’re frustrated, i am too," McClanahan wrote. "This process has been anything but easy coming back from a completely freak injury. I want you to know that I’m busting my ass and doing everything i can to be back to who you know i can be and what i know i can be." If you don't know, the MLB Trade Deadline hits on July 31. That's just a little over a week away and the Rays, much like other MLB teams in playoff contention, are looking to improve their 40-man roster. Entering Wednesday's action, Tampa Bay is 53-49 on the season, 6.5 games behind Toronto in the AL East. Jonathan Aranda paces the Tampa Bay offense with a .316 average while Junior Caminero anchors the Rays' sluggers with 25 home runs and 65 RBIs, according to StatMuse. As trade talk keeps stirring around MLB, it would not be a surprise to see Tampa Bay fill either a buyer or seller role. Getting to postseason play this season, especially while playing their games at George M. Steinbrenner Field, would be quite an event. Knowing the Rays, it just might happen.
