It was a routine win for Stevenson in the main event of the Top Rank promoted card, with the scorecards reading 119-109, 118-110 and 116-112. Despite the Gervonta Davis vs. Vasiliy Lomachenko fight not being finalised it appears negotiations have been opened for a unification bout between the two lightweight superstars. If this fight is made, it would be a fascinating prospect for Stevenson to face the winner.

“Tank” has that devastating ability to stalk his opponents before delivering that one-punch KO power. “Loma” is an exceptional technician and a fight with the Newark WBC titlist would be a true boxing chess match. If the Davis and Lomachenko bout happens next, another potential option for Shakur could be Denys Berinchyk, the WBO lightweight world champion. The Ukrainian fighter recently became the champion after defeating Emanuel Navarrete. He also had an impressive amateur career, which included a 2012 Olympic silver medal.
