Report: Logan Paul-Floyd Mayweather fight scheduled for June 5

After several delays, sources are saying that the exhibition between boxing legend Floyd Mayweather and YouTube star Logan Paul is scheduled to take place on June 5.

The fight was originally supposed to take place in February but ended up being postponed, and for reasons that remain somewhat unclear. Some wondered if the fight would actually happen, but now it looks like it has just been pushed back a few months.

According to The Athletic's Mike Coppinger, Mayweather will not be allowed to weigh more than 160 pounds, while Paul won't be able to weigh more than 190. The official location for the fight has not been determined, but on Tuesday, Mayweather posted on Instagram that Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas and Atlanta were the finalists.

Mayweather remains officially retired, but the 44-year-old is returning to the ring to face off against Paul, who is hoping to legitimize his boxing career by taking down one of the all-time great fighters.

Coppinger noted that if the fight does take place on June 5, it will be in direct competition with the fight between Teofimo Lopez, the undisputed lightweight champion, and George Kambosas. Coppinger noted that while diehard boxing fans would likely tune into the Lopez-Kambosas bout, the Mayweather-Paul fight will likely generate tons of viewers based on name recognition alone.
