Ryan Garcia Slammed For Drinking PRIME
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Ryan Garcia has faced backlash from fans after he apologized to Logan Paul and drank a bottle of his PRIME.

Garcia made several scathing comments about the drink in the run-up to his fight with Devin Haney. He claimed that the drink is killing people while also calling on anyone who associated with the brand as working for the devil.

The drink has suffered controversy in the past. A lawsuit was filed in 2023, claiming the drink had per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). These are known as forever chemicals, with accusations that they can cause health issues. The drink brought in over $1.3 billion in revenue last year. Garcia’s comments forced Paul to act, suing him for libel and defamation.

Logan Sues

“I’ve had to spend the last couple months dismantling ridiculous claims about Prime, and it’s become obvious — Prime is under attack. Why? We’re a threat. Prime is the most disruptive beverage in history and our competitors feel the pressure. It’s likely that we’ve been targeted as the victim of a smear campaign. Clout chasers know they can use PRIME’s goodwill for attention & views.

“People don’t like me or KSI. That’s fine. But if you don’t like Prime, don’t drink it. No need to lie about the facts in an attempt to stay relevant. Today we begin to hold those accountable who’ve damaged our brand for attention while we correct the narrative. We’re here to stay and will continue to change the world of hydration with bold flavors and creative innovation. P.S. Ryan Garcia thinks the Earth is flat. P.S.S. Ryan Garcia tested positive for [performance enhancing drugs],” Paul said

Garcia has now issued an apology. He held his hands up, saying he had taken responsibility for his actions, as he took a drink of Prime.

Garcia Drinks PRIME

“I just want to say I’m sorry. I just feel bad for the fight we’re going through because I’ve known the family for years, bro. This…[is] breaking my heart. I don’t want to fight with you no more, bro. I don’t got a problem with PRIME, I had a problem with you. I’ll drink this…now…I love you, bro. I’m done with this fighting,” Garcia stated

It is not clear if Garcia’s comments are another sign of him trolling. He has been very vocal with his social media activity, with fans unsure where Garcia draws the line between being serious and trolling. He has faced criticism over his failed VADA tests for Ostarine. Urine samples collected on April 19 and April 20 have cast doubt over Garcia’s victory against Devin Haney.

Ryan’s B sample is also positive, leaving him with a tough task to prove his innocence. Haney’s team has asked the New York State Athletic Commission to disqualify Ryan. Garcia has shown a lack of concern, saying he has been set up. He also infamously posted ‘I love steroids’ in a serious matter where Haney claimed he could have lost his life.

He also revealed that he would plan a breakaway boxing league if he was not allowed to box again or received a big ban. Garcia’s other ventures outside of the sport have also not helped. He has plenty of business ventures, meaning boxing is not the only way he makes money. But if Garcia desires to box again, he must cooperate with the authorities and win the fans over. He will be better positioned to move forward if Garcia deals with those battles outside of the ring.
