Sebastian Fundora, the WBC junior middleweight champion, and Keith Thurman are set to face off on October 25 from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Fundora arrives into the fight as the favorite. He recently had a successful title defense, defeating Tim Tszyu via a seventh-round stoppage in June. It was his second victory over the Australian, removing the doubts from the first fight where Tsyzu felt the cut over his eye hampered his performance.
Meanwhile, Thurman is also coming into the bout with a win. He recently returned from three-years out of the ring to stop Brock Jarvis in his last fight. Thurman’s best success came at 147 as the former unified welterweight champion. Now, he has the chance to become a two-weight world champion by beating Fundora.
In chief support, O’Shaquie Foster will put his WBC junior lightweight title on the line against WBC featherweight champion Stephen Fulton. Foster secured a win over Robson Conceição in his last fight to reclaim his WBC title, while Fulton won the WBC featherweight title in February with a unanimous decision win over Brandon Figueroa.
