Sebastian Fundora vs Keith Thurman was set to headline a PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Dan Rafael has now revealed that the WBC super welterweight title fight and the entire undercard have been postponed, dealing a severe blow to PBC and all the fighters who were set to appear. (More to Follow).
Dan Rafael also confirmed, as per sources, the entire card is postponed, with many fight fans looking forward to seeing the intriguing WBC super featherweight title clash between O’Shaquie Foster and Stephen Fulton, having the potential to be the fight of the night.
Other notable appearances on the undercard were Jesus Ramos, Isaac Lucero, and the return of Frank Martin.
October 25 was set to be a busy night in the boxing calendar with Fundora vs Thurman, and Joseph Parker vs Fabio Wardley, and Frazer Clarke vs Jeamie TKV in the UK.
It remains to be seen whether this card, or at least the main event, will happen at a later date.
Despite Thurman not being the one injured, he has suffered greatly, with fights falling through in recent years, including a shoulder injury ending his hopes of facing Tim Tszyu, and now the Fundora injury, ending his hopes of winning the world title on October 25.
Thurman has only fought twice since his 2019 defeat to Manny Pacquiao. His ability is unquestioned, but will father time catch up with the 36-year-old before he gets his next big fight?
He did look in good shape in his previous fight, albeit against the inferior opponent, Brock Jarvis.
More news is sure to follow on the future of this card and what’s next for every fighter who was scheduled to appear.
