Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom wants to make Hamzah Sheeraz against Callum Simpson and believes the domestic clash would sell out an arena.
Shalom told iFL TV this week that Sheeraz needs a major British fight despite his recent activity in Saudi Arabia. "You can fight in Saudi so much but I think he needs a big domestic fight, I think he needs an arena-seller," he said, per Bad Left Hook. "We've not see Hamzah Sheeraz sell out an arena yet, he will against Callum Simpson."
Shalom confirmed Boxxer will pursue the fight and expects negotiations to go smoothly. "It's a fight that can be easily made," he said.
Simpson won over the weekend in a performance that raised his profile. Sheeraz has been operating mostly on Saudi cards in recent months but has yet to headline a packed British venue.
Shalom also addressed the ongoing contractual dispute with Sam Hickey, saying the fighter remains under a long-term Boxxer deal and that courts will need to settle the matter unless both sides find common ground.
