Tekashi 6ix9ine has given his thoughts on Jake Paul’s recent fight with Anthony Joshua, backing the influencer boxer’s performance after walking him out before the bout.
Controversial rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine broke his silence about his thoughts regarding Jake Paul’s massive boxing match against Anthony Joshua.
The rapper, who surprised fans by appearing alongside Paul during his ring walk, said the YouTuber-turned-boxer earned respect for lasting six rounds against the former heavyweight champion.
Speaking to DJ Vlad, Tekashi 6ix9ine pushed back against critics who said Jake Paul was outclassed by Anthony Joshua.
He pointed out that Paul went into the ring against a seasoned professional who had a massive size and experience advantage over him, and still held his own.
“People look at it like Jake Paul got beat up, but I don’t see it that way,” he said. “The guy is half his size, bro. What do you expect? Anthony Joshua has been boxing since he was maybe 12 or 13.
“Jake Paul just started in late 2019 — he’s never fought world-class opponents. You’ve got to give it to the kid. He went six rounds with Anthony Joshua, a heavyweight champion. You’ve got to be realistic.”
Paul was stopped in the sixth round by Joshua in what many considered his toughest challenge in the ring to date.
Despite the loss, the 29-year-old managed to stay somewhat competitive early on, showing flashes of power against the vastly more experienced Briton.
Tekashi’s comments echoed praise from several boxing analysts who said the fight demonstrated Paul’s growth as a professional.
Tekashi’s presence at the event drew significant attention outside the ring. His decision to walk out Jake Paul was seen as a noteworthy moment given his reputation as one of music’s most controversial figures.
The rapper’s appearance quickly went viral on social media, with fans debating his involvement and comments following the fight.
For Tekashi, the event offered another moment in the spotlight — and for Jake Paul, an endorsement from one of music’s most polarising names after one of his most challenging nights in the ring.
