On this day: Terence Crawford made boxing history.
During his time in combat sports, the warrior has solidified his status as one of the greatest fighters of the modern era.
Crawford knocked out Kell Brook in brutal fashion, dominated Viktor Postol, and won world championship belts in four weight classes.
However, of all his achievements, one undeniably stands out from the pack.
WOW: Isaac Cruz ruthlessly stopped ex-world champion who gave Terence Crawford a tough test
On July 29, 2023, Terence Crawford battled it out with Errol Spence Jr. for the undisputed welterweight championship of the world at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
The fight, which was meant to be a close-fought contest, turned out to be a one-sided beatdown, with ‘Bud’ battering his countryman en route to a 9th-round TKO.
Crawford became the first boxer to become undisputed 147-pound King since Zab Judah beat Cory Spinks on February 5, 2005, and subsequently held onto that status until January 7, 2006.
However, many would argue that the modern-day great’s accomplishment two years ago was even greater than that of ‘Super’, because he did it in the four-belt era as opposed to the three-belt era.
Crawford has dominated almost every single opponent he’s faced inside the boxing ring.
However, on occasion, he’s been given a run for his money.
In a gruelling fight, the American had to really bite down on his gumshield.
In a moment of madness, Crawford was wobbled by a massive shot.
