The undercard for Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has been boosted with the announcement of lightweight contender Floyd Schofield facing former IBF super featherweight champion Tevin Farmer. The entire card will stream live on DAZN PPV, promoted by Golden Boy and Most Valuable Promotions. Ahead of Farmer-Schofield, Farmer has delivered a brutal four-word promise.
This fight provides plenty of intrigue, with Farmer (33-8-1, 8 KOs) demonstrating remaining ability despite losing his last three fights. Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) was scheduled to challenge Shakur Stevenson for his WBC lightweight belt in February before withdrawing from the bout in fight week due to illness.
Schofield said about his upcoming fight: “Sharing the ring with former world champ Tevin Farmer is a huge opportunity for me to silence those who doubt me and my skills, and I know that I will come out with the win.”
Farmer appears confident he will have too much for Schofield, delivering a brutal promise for June 28: “My skills are different than anything he’s ever seen,” Farmer said. “I’m knocking him out to teach him a lesson.”
Avious Griffin (17-0, 16 KOs) will make his MVP debut on June 28, facing Julian Rodriguez (23-1, 14 KOs). Griffin will be eager to impress and move on to bigger fights under the MVP banner.
