2024 has been a big year for boxing and especially fighting games. Many new blockbusters have hit the shelves and captivated the enthusiasts of fighting sport, over a high-quality and digital environment. By the end of this guide, you may even notice some popular boxer figures represented as characters and animated in a certain way.
Below is the list of (in our opinion) the best 5 fighting and boxing games for 2024, according to critics and fans of the more offensive gameplay. So, let’s start!
Hitting shelves in October 2024, Undisputed brought a much-needed injection of realism and authenticity back to console and PC gamers everywhere. Already considered a notable release, the last major boxing title, Fight Night Champion, was released in 2011. The attention to detail that Steel City Interactive has invested in Undisputed is an immense devoted team working on replicating the real nuance of boxing.
Controls in the game allow players to utilize more than 60 different punches, many from almost all angles and directions, thereby giving them the opportunities for tactics such as feints, counters, and laying traps to outmanoeuvre opponents. Maybe one of the most attractive features of the game is the footwork mechanics it has, enabling players to make strategic movements around the ring with a “Loose Movement” modifier.
This adds up to a gameplay experience where positioning and timing make everything, much like real strategic boxing.
Another wrestling/fighting game, Fight Forever married WWE’s theatricality with arcade gameplay to make it a standout in the lineup for 2024. Unlike more simulation-driven titles, Fight Forever is all about fast-paced, high-action encounters and is designed as much for wrestling fans as casual gamers.
Rather than realism, accessibility has been the name of the game, with Fight Forever. With a simplified overall control scheme in general, you will be performing WWE wrestlers’ iconic moves without breaking much of a sweat, which is a lower barrier for new players, yet the action can remain fast-paced and fun for all types of gamers.
Casual crowds have been swayed by the high-flying moves and quick changes in the pace of the game. Fans of hardcore wrestling and fighting games might find it a bit too simplistic and shallow compared to other, more complex fighters. If you’re searching for a professional boost to progress quickly throughout your game, you should certainly consider AskBoosters elite crew of handpicked gamers!
Knockout City is one of the most unusual titles on the lineup of fighting games for 2024, managing to meld dodgeball with aspects of boxing, producing a fun, team-based brawler that seamlessly blends strategy, quick reflexes, and teamwork. Although initially released as a dodgeball title, Knockout City received a sort of reboot in early 2024, tacking on elements from combat sports games to give the title a bit more depth. This combination of genres has created an experience that’s both approachable and challenging, unique for its creative spin on multiplayer fighting.
Players form teams and compete against teams in matches, utilizing throws or catches of balls to “knock out” competitors. Special moves can be performed both on offence and defence. There is a sense of strategy that goes into teams coordinating their moves, positions, and timing in order to outsmart opponents.
Knockout City may not contain the traditional hand-to-hand combat or punch attributed to a boxing title, but it brings in that same reflexive attribute required along with anticipation. It’s a fun title for those who enjoy quick-paced and cooperative gameplay.
Mortal Kombat offered a reboot in 2024 simply entitled Mortal Kombat 1. This game in the series brought its signature brutal combat but with updated graphics, refined gameplay, and a reimagined storyline. The Mortal Kombat series is primarily known for its mature themes, visceral combat, and blood/gore. Mortal Kombat is perhaps one of the most well-known fighting/boxing titles, with most versions available on PC and almost all consoles on the market.
Cinematic storytelling in Mortal Kombat 1 is one of the highly vaunted features that puts great emphasis on and amplifies the single-player mode of the game. It has a plot line that looks into complicated relationships between characters and gives fans more background on lore, taking them to a very dramatic story.
The rebalanced fighting mechanics provide smoother gameplay with new combo systems and finishing moves. The Fatalities, synonymous with Mortal Kombat, are more intense than ever, showing graphic details in an original animation.
If you’re a fan of fighting games, you must be considerate of the opportunities offered by CakeBoost, as a professional booster website on the market. With a lineup of popular games, you will be able to achieve your in-game goals in a matter of hours with the help of professionals!
Injustice 3, due to arrive in 2024, is the third in the series of fighting games that involves the DC Universe. Following the formula made so successful with earlier series, the game combines some of the most powerful superhero lore with fast action and heavy combat. Boasting iconic characters such as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, Injustice 3 lets players create classic DC matchups with unique powers, environments they can use, and a cinematic story mode for immersive play in high-stakes conflict.
Building on the success of previous entries, Injustice 3 puts a great deal of emphasis on the use of interactive environments and objects around an arena to enrich moves and inflict damage on opponents. The powers of every character come across faithfully, adding that layer of immersion that feels real to the DC Universe.
From the true-to-form boxing mechanics of Undisputed to the truly brutal, cinematic experience of Mortal Kombat 1, each of these fighting games brings something different to the table for 2024. Whether one enjoys the strategy and realism of actual boxing, the arcade-like fun of Fight Forever, or the fast-paced teamwork of Knockout City, this year’s releases are very varied and cater to a wide array of gamers.

There is not a bigger sporting event in North America than the Super Bowl, and tickets are only getting more expensive every year. There is also a ridiculous secondary market for tickets where seats sell for well above the original face value. It is usually fans or ticket resellers going for a quick profit. But as was reported on Friday, sometimes it can be players in the NFL looking to make a profit. According to multiple reports, including the Associated Press and ESPN, more than 100 players are facing fines and potential suspensions for selling their allotment of tickets to this year's Super Bowl between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs for above face value. Players are reportedly facing fines of one-and-a-half times the face value they originally paid for the tickets, while they are also prevented from purchasing tickets to the Super Bowl for the next seasons. The Associated Press obtained a memo from the NFL detailing the violation and investigation. That memo was as follows: “Our initial investigation has determined that a number of NFL players and coaches, employed by several NFL Clubs, sold Super Bowl tickets for more than the ticket’s face value in violation of the Policy. This long-standing League Policy, which is specifically incorporated into the Collective Bargaining Agreement, prohibits League or Club employees, including players, from selling NFL game tickets acquired from their employer for more than the ticket’s face value or for an amount greater than the employee originally paid for the ticket, whichever is less. We are in the process of completing our investigation into this matter, but the investigation has revealed that club employees and players sold their tickets to a small number of ‘bundlers’ who were working with a ticket reseller to sell the Super Bowl tickets above face value.” If players are not willing to pay the fine, they could be facing suspension from the league. It seems unlikely that any of the players — none of whom have been named, or their teams — would refuse to pay such a fine. It's also one of those moments where you can say, professional athletes — they're still normal people trying to make a quick buck. The most logical answer here is perhaps some of the players caught up in this are younger players who have not yet struck it rich on a big contract or perhaps even practice squad players who are not making top dollar.
Are NBA players underpaid? Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry argues yes. The greatest shooter in NBA history said Thursday on Complex’s “360 With Speedy” that because the league’s current CBA doesn’t allow for current players to invest in league and team equity, players are leaving money on the table. “I would say, yes, we are underpaid,” Curry admitted when asked, despite enormous salaries, if the players were getting short-changed, “because you wanna be able to participate in that rise [of equity].” “It’s a partnership with ownership, [and] it’s a partnership with the league,” the 37-year-old stressed, revealing that league salaries do not reflect players’ impact on team valuations. If anyone has the right to begrudge the current CBA on player participation in equity, it’s Curry. When drafted in 2009, the Warriors were worth $315 million. Current valuations in May of 2025 have the team at $9.4 billion, the most in the league. Curry’s been paid handsomely during his time in Golden State, and he doesn’t overlook it. “I know we’re blessed to be in a position where we’re playing basketball for a living, and these are the type of checks that people are earning,” he told Complex. However, when he signed his $62.6 million one-year extension in 2024 that would keep him in a Warriors’ jersey until 2027, many felt that no amount of money the franchise could offer him would represent his worth. Curry had an undeniable impact on the Warriors’ valuation increasing by nearly 3,000%. He’s benefited by being the most salaried player on the roster and plenty of endorsement deals. But is he getting his fair share? Something similar may happen with reigning NBA Finals MVP and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who just signed the richest contract in league history with an average annual value of $71.25 million. According to Forbes, the Thunder’s valuation increased 20% from 2023 to 2024 and will likely take another jump after this year’s championship. Curry concedes that player participation in equity isn’t a simple concept and not all markets are created equal: “You got competitive advantage considerations…and want every market to have a fair chance, like I get all that.” He believes, however, that finding a solution is a “mutually beneficial proposition” for players, teams and the league. Even the most expensive people in the world need to find other investors to make owning an NBA team possible. The best example of Curry’s point is the Boston Celtics sale in March. The most-championed franchise in league history was sold to Bill Chisholm for $6.1 billion, the largest ever sports franchise sale in North America at the time. Chisholm needed Rob Hale, Bruce Beal Jr., and private equity firm Sixth Street, to afford the purchase. Because team ownership is already a multi-investor operation, the league could potentially come to an agreement with the players by the next CBA negotiation at the end of the decade. If not, the league's best players will continue to simultaneously earn a ridiculous amount of money, and it will not be nearly enough.
For the first time since the Las Vegas Raiders' shocking release of DT Christian Wilkins on Thursday, head coach Pete Carroll fielded questions about the move. "To make our decision, we watched our way through the whole thing," Carroll told the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Vinny Bonsignore. "We're keeping really clear with what we said. I think there was no clear path to his return, and we just had to move on." Wilkins was injured in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos last season, suffering a foot injury that would put him on the IR after five games. It was not what the Raiders had hoped for after then-general manager Tom Telesco signed him to a four-year, $110 million deal in March 2024. Initially, Wilkins did have surgery, but wasn't healthy by the time organized team activities started, and his rehab proved to be a "challenging process" as described by Carroll a few months ago. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Las Vegas reportedly wanted Wilkins to undergo another foot surgery, but he declined, which led to the release of the six-year pro from Clemson. The Raiders are attempting to void $35.2 million in remaining guarantees that Wilkins was owed on his contract. The NFLPA filed a grievance against Las Vegas as a result. Wilkins was brought in to help star pass rusher Maxx Crosby create problems for opposing offenses. The Raiders got a brief look when Wilkins recorded 17 tackles, two tackles for loss, six quarterback hits and two sacks before he got injured in the second quarter. The injury was unfortunate for Las Vegas, which had counted on Wilkins to produce similar results, as he had in his last three seasons with the Dolphins, recording 17 sacks, including nine in 2023. Perhaps Raiders GM John Spytek saw this coming when the silver and black selected Tonka Hemingway and JJ Pegues in the 2025 NFL Draft. While there is still time to find the next player to fill the void left by Wilkins, there is a massive hole in the interior line.
Right now, it is Kyle Schwarber's league, and everybody else just happens to be playing in it. The Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter continued his white-hot month of July -- and incredible season at the plate -- on Friday night in a 12-5 win over the New York Yankees, going 3-for-5 with two more home runs and four runs batted in. He is now up to 36 home runs on the season, and within striking distance of a Phillies franchise record. His 36 home runs are tied for the most for a Phillies player through 103 games, and have him on a pace for around 56 home runs for the season. The team's single-season record is the 58 home runs hit by former first baseman Ryan Howard during the 2006 season. This is a huge season for Schwarber because he is in the final year of his contract and is set to be eligible for free agency after this season. He wants to stay in Philadelphia, and the Phillies would love to keep him, but each home run is only making that price tag go higher and higher. As of Friday, his 36 home runs are tied for second in the National League, just one behind Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani. While Schwarber has been a key cog in the Phillies lineup all season, his performance has reached an entirely new level of production in July. With his two home runs on Friday, he has now hit 11 home runs in only 73 official at-bats for the month, and entered Friday's game with a staggering 1.044 OPS in July. It went up after Friday's performance. The Phillies are in a back-and-forth fight with the New York Mets for the top spot in the National League East race, and it might be time to start talking about Schwarber as a potential MVP candidate, given how much of an impact he is making at the plate.
