Top Rank has secured the future of one of boxing’s brightest young champions. On Wednesday, the promotion announced that WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. has signed a multi year contract extension, solidifying his place as a cornerstone of their roster.
The deal comes as Norman prepares for the third defense of his world title on Nov. 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will face former lightweight kingpin Devin Haney.
“When I watch Brian Norman Jr., I think of all the legendary welterweights I’ve promoted,” said Top Rank chairman Bob Arum. “He has the physical tools and maturity required to become a generational fighter. We are thrilled to be part of the next phase of Brian’s career, which I believe will see him ascend from world champion to the top of the pound-for-pound list.”
Norman (28-0, 22 KOs), who first signed with Top Rank in December 2022, emphasized loyalty in his decision to stay put.
“I believe in loyalty. Top Rank believed in me from the start, and I’m proud to keep building with the home team. We’re only getting started.”
Brian Norman Jr. looks to me to be a future pound-for-pound great. His improvement over the past couple of years has been enormous, but that will be eclipsed by what is to come. We are so pleased that he has elected to re-sign with Top Rank. pic.twitter.com/ePpnyPDKRU

Norman broke through in 2023 with a highlight-reel knockout of Giovani Santillan to capture the WBO interim title. He was later elevated to full champion when Terence Crawford vacated the belt after moving up in weight.
Since then, Norman has defended his title twice in 2024, defeating Derrieck Cuevas before traveling to Japan and scoring a spectacular fifth-round stoppage of Jin Sasaki a finish already considered one of the year’s best knockouts.
Adrian Clark, CEO of Fighters First Management, credited Norman’s circle for his rapid rise:
“It has been a total team effort to get Brian Norman Jr. to where he is today. I must credit Brian Norman Sr., Jolene Mizzone, and the Hall of Fame matchmakers, Brad Goodman and Bruce Trampler. We are excited to continue our partnership with Top Rank.”
At just 24 years old, Norman is already the second-youngest male champion in boxing and has his toughest test yet against Haney looming. Multple oddsmakers currently list Norman as a slight favorite over Haney.
A win in Riyadh would not only solidify Norman as the division’s man to beat but also affirm Top Rank’s investment in one of boxing’s potential pound-for-pound stars.
