Turki Alalshikh Reveals Explosive Undercard for Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk

The undisputed heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14KOs) was due to happen on February 17, but  Fury sustained a nasty eye injury in a similar area to his cut against Otto Wallin on September 14, 2019. The much-anticipated clash will now happen on May 18 at the Kingdom Arena, Riyadh, as revealed by Turki Alalshikh on the MMA Hour podcast His Excellency has now revealed the undercard for this historic bout.

Undercard for Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk Revealed

Jai Opetaia vs. Mairis Briedis

The rematch between the two is a huge fight after Jai Opetaia (24-0, 19 KOs) defeated Mairis Briedis (28-2, 20 KOs) on July 2, 2022. Both will be eager to win and make big fights in the future. It’s difficult to look past an Opetaia win, as he’s shown he has plenty of skill and power. This bout will also be for the IBF & Ring Magazine world cruiserweight titles.

Joe Cordina vs. Anthony Cacace

Joe Cordina (17-0, 9 KOs) will look to defend his IBF super featherweight strap against Anthony Cacace (21-1, 7 KOs), who will be defending his IBO super featherweight title. Both will be eager to move on to bigger fights against the likes of Leigh Wood and O’Shaquie Foster.

Agit Kabayel vs. Frank Sanchez

Appearing on the Ring of Fire undercard will be Agit Kabayel (24-0, 16 KOs), as the undefeated German goes up against Frank Sanchez (24-0, 17 KOs). Both appeared on the “Day of Reckoning” card and were victorious by KO.

Sergey Kovalev vs. Robin Sirwan Safar

Experienced Russian fighter Sergey Kovalev (35-4-1, 29 KOs) will take on undefeated Swedish fighter Robin Sirwan Safar (16-0, 12 KOs). Kovalev lost to Saul Alvarez by eleventh-round KO on November 2, 2019. Since that loss, he has only fought once against Tervel Pulev, winning by unanimous decision on May 14, 2022.

Mark Chamberlain vs. Joshua Oluwaseun Wahab

Englishman Mark Chamberlain (15-0, 11 KOs) produced a career-best performance in his last fight on the “Knockout Chaos” undercard against Gavin Gwynne, dismantling his British rival by fourth-round TKO. His next opponent will be Nigerian Joshua Oluwaseun Wahab (23-1, 16 KOs), whose only career defeat came against London fighter Liam Dillon.
