No. 1 Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are scheduled to meet on Saturday, December 21st for a rematch of epic proportions. This may be the biggest heavyweight bout of the modern era.
Instead of four world titles on the line, it will be only three. As reported by BBC.com, the IBF (International Boxing Federation) stripped Usyk of his title because he was unable to fulfill his duty to square off with his mandatory challenger.
Usyk won the last matchup between the two in May by a majority decision. In that fight, Fury managed to build up a lead before Usyk took the upper hand.
Usyk is currently undefeated, with a record of 22-0. He can go on to cement his career and lasting legacy in boxing history with a knockout against Fury.
On the other side, Tyson Fury Is looking for revenge after a split decision loss in May against Usyks.
As reported by CBSSports.com, Oleksandr Usyk is the -150 favorite in the fight but according to oddsmakers and the general public, they feel as though the fight will be even.
Fury says that he is prepared for this fight. He has even taken such measures as not speaking to his family while he has been training for the bout. Fury is tuned in. It doesn’t look like he will let his age stop him from winning the fight this go around.
The two will face off for the Unified World heavyweight champion at 11 p.m. GMT on Pay Per View.
