‘The Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) is gearing up for his highly anticipated showdown against Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). As the fight date approaches, one factor cannot be overlooked. Fury’s resilience inside the ring, from the ‘Bronze Bomber’ Deontay Wilder’s (43-3-1, 42 KOs) iron fists to former UFC legend Francis Ngannou’s (0-2) sheer power, ‘The Gypsy King’s chin has taken it all. This has certainly got the boxing community wondering about who hit him the hardest, and Fury undoubtedly had an answer to that query.

Charlie Parsons of The Stomping Ground recently interviewed Fury. In conversation, Parsons brought up his previous fights against Ngannou and Wilder and further asked him which fighter hit him the hardest.

“Deontay, by far. Ngannou is a big puncher, but I wasn’t really troubled by any of his punches. It wasn’t like he was dynamite, and every time he hit me; I was wobbled. Just one shot to the back of the head and that was it. Wilder’s still the biggest puncher I’ve ever been in the ring with by a mile,” Fury replied. Wilder has faced Fury three times, in 2018, 2020 and 2021. The first fight ended in a draw while Fury emerged the victor in the latter two fights.

Tyson Fury: ‘I’ll be ready in nine weeks’

Meanwhile, Fury’s upcoming fight against Usyk is the talk of the town. With the talks falling through multiple times, it is a fight that fans have looked forward to for a long time. With nine weeks remaining for the Titans to collide, Fury believes it is far too early to fully engross himself in fight preparations. However, he is confident he will be battle-ready by fight night.

“Feeling good. Listen, we’re way out from the fight. You know what I mean. I’ve just been asked that question before: am I fit and ready? I’m always fit. But, I’ll be ready in nine weeks for the fight,” Fury said in the same interview. “If you’re ready now, it means you’re gonna get f*cked up in the actual fight because it’s too far out from the fight to be ready.”
