An undisputed super middleweight champion will emerge when Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford meet in September for their blockbuster fight.

Meeting on September 13th in Las Vegas, 41-0 Crawford is moving up two weight classes to challenge one of the greatest Mexican fighters of all time, Alvarez.

All four belts at 168 lbs will be on the line, as Alvarez aims to defend his undisputed status. As for Crawford, it will be his first outing in the division.

Although some may feel that Crawford will be outsized in the fight, one prospect believes ‘Bud’ can walk away with his unbeaten record.

Bruce Carrington details how Terence Crawford can overcome Canelo Alvarez

16-0 Bruce Carrington feels that Crawford has the ability it takes to cause Alvarez problems and get the victory in their headline bout.

The featherweight prospect currently holds the interim WBC World Featherweight title, and may be able to call himself a world champion soon.

When speaking to The Ring Magazine about the upcoming fight between Alvarez and Crawford, the 28-year-old did not count out his fellow American’s chances.

Carrington said that ‘after doing his homework’ on the fight between the pair, he thought to himself, “Bud actually really has a chance.”

The fighter added, “Not like, ‘Oh, maybe if this happens’, like, ‘Bud’ has a chance to make that fight like a clear victory.”

The reason why the unbeaten Carrington said this was due to the abilities of Crawford. “I feel like he has the skillset to make Canelo a bit frustrated with his feet movement.

He has the reach, he has the counter punching ability, the speed, the IQ to maintain his dominance in the fight.”

Bruce Carrington on what Terence Crawford has to watch out for against Canelo Alvarez

Despite feeling Crawford has good potential going into the fight with Alvarez, Carrington is wary of the threat posed by the Mexican.

Although ‘Shu Shu’ feels that Alvarez does not have the foot speed he once had, Carrington said, “The power is there, the IQ is there, the durability, his chin, we’ve seen it all with Canelo. I feel like he has what it takes to get Crawford and to put him down.”

Carrington then referenced Crawford’s last professional fight, seeing potential weaknesses for ‘Bud’.

“I think in the last fight with Crawford and Madrimov, Madrimov hit Crawford with a lot of straight right hands. He’ll wait for Crawford to throw a pawing or measuring jab and he’ll dunk and just throw that right hand and counter.

“That’s the same exact shot that Canelo dropped Austin Trout with… Crawford has to watch out for that.”
