One of the most accomplished boxers of his era, Eubank Sr. held the WBO super middleweight crown, losing to just Joe Calzaghe and Carl Thompson in his career — as well as his heralded doubleheader with Dublin star Steve Collins.

However, since his retirement, Eubank Sr. has spent some time Stateside — where he was recognized as an honorary sheriff’s marshal in the state of Louisiana.

And sporting his sheriff’s badge on occasion in recent years, Eubank explained the meaning of the accessory, detailing his past upbringing with his siblings.

“There can never be anything ever disgraceful about serving and protecting everybody within the community at large. […] We protect and serve always,” Eubank Sr. told IFL TV in 2018.

Spending some time on duty with the Opelousas police department in Louisiana, Eubank Sr. attended the scene of a multi-car collision.

And battered by the rain, Eubank Sr. posted footage of the aftermath of the incident on his official X account, with one of the parties involved remarking how she had never seen a police officer wearing a bow tie as part of their attire.

“Sergeant Eubank proudly on duty in Louisiana,” Eubank Sr. posted on social media. “All warriors protect and serve, whether one wears a badge or not.”
