Jake Paul continues to divide the boxing fanbase and he has been slammed by former heavyweight world champion for his callout following Saturday’s win.

This past Saturday, Jake Paul returned to the boxing ring for the first time since his controversial win over Mike Tyson last November, taking on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

‘The Problem Child’ once again put on a dominant performance, picking up the unanimous decision victory over the former WBC world champion.

With his win over Chavez Jr, Paul earned himself a spot in the top 15 of the cruiserweight rankings, and also faced off with two-title holder, Zurdo Ramirez.

Roy Jones Jr slams Jake Paul for post-fight callout

As well as calling out Ramirez, the 28-year-old also called out Badou Jack, Gervonta Davis, and most importantly, Anthony Joshua.

During the post-fight press conference, ‘The Problem Child’ admitted that he has already held conversations with the former heavyweight world champion, claiming the fight could likely happen in 2026.

Joshua hasn’t fought since suffering a brutal loss to Daniel Dubois last September and he has since considered retiring from the sport.

Despite that, considering the level of Paul’s previous opponents, the idea of him fighting the British heavyweight has been slammed by former champion Roy Jones Jr.

“The fight can happen, but it has to be Anthony Joshua wanting the fight and needs to be worth his while. For Anthony Joshua, fights have to make sense for him now otherwise he won’t do them,” Jones Jr began to explain to Action Network.

“Did you see what Anthony Joshua did to Francis Ngannou? The same thing happens to Jake Paul. Joshua is a real, former heavyweight champion of the world for a reason and is not a slouch or a fluke, he did it for real.

“If you think a person that is not really a full time boxer will beat Anthony Joshua, then you’re crazy,” he continued.

Jake Paul claims he will ‘vigorously go after’ talk show host after ‘irresponsible’ claims

With the 28-year-old continuing to receive criticism for his involvement in the sport, he was called out by controversial British talk show host, Piers Morgan, who slammed his fight against Chavez Jr.

In response, Paul claimed he will ‘vigorously go after’ Morgan for his ‘irresponsible’ claims, threatening legal action against him and all of his other ‘haters’ that spread misinformation about his career.
