The Tennessee Vols have had a growing presence in Major League Baseball, and that will continue this weekend in a memorable event in the Volunteer State.

Per Knox News Sentinel's Mike Wilson, Tony Vitello will join the MLB Network coverage of the weekend matchup at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds. The game is expected to set the MLB record for the largest attendance in league history.

The game between the teams will take place on Saturday, August 2, but the network will have coverage on Friday and Saturday, with Vitello joining the broadcast around 6 pm ET on Friday.

Vitello has been a regular on the MLB Network in recent years, as he's transformed the program from an afterthought to a national power since he took over the program in 2017. He's been on the MLB Draft broadcast three times in the last four years, watching his players get taken in the first round in each of the last two seasons.

Vitello's no-holds-barred and often outspoken nature combines informative and entertaining commentary well for live TV. It's a terrific tool for the program and has increased visibility of not just the program but the sport of college baseball itself.

And with the success Tennessee is having on the field coupled with the increased presence on MLB rosters, Vitello should remain a regular fixture on MLB programming for years to come.
