The No. 12 (No. 4 seeded) Auburn Tigers beat the No. 15 (No. 5 seeded) South Carolina Gamecocks 86-55 in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament.

Auburn dominated the game in order to pick up its first SEC Tournament win since 2019.

What are the biggest takeaways from the game?

Auburn took care of the ball

The Tigers turned the ball over only four times which led to only two points for the Gamecocks.

South Carolina turned the ball over nine times which led to 17 points for Auburn.

It is hard to come out on top if you are unable to take care of the ball and Auburn took that to heart in this game.

Johni Broome did what he does

Auburn's 6-foot-10 forward has been a significant part of its success this season and today was no different.

Broome led all scorers and rebounders with 18 and 10 respectively. He also shot 6-14 from the field and had three assists.

When Broome is on, Auburn becomes one of the best teams in the country.

Auburn got the ball inside

The Tigers did not have their best day shooting, particularly from 3-point range.

Auburn made up for its off-performance by focusing on getting the ball inside and taking as many high-percentage shots as possible.

Having alternative methods of putting points on the board when the deep ball is not falling is one of the most valuable strengths that this team possesses.

Auburn will take on the No. 9 seed Mississippi State Bulldogs, who upset the No. 1 seed Tennessee Volunteers, tomorrow at 1 p.m. CT. The television broadcast can be found on ESPN and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast can be streamed anywhere on the Auburn Athletics app.
