Arizona State men’s basketball looks to end its six-game losing streak and get revenge this Sunday against Kansas State. ASU is enduring its worst stretch in over a decade, losing 11 of its last 13 games. If the Sun Devils want to break their spunk, they’ll need senior guard Alston Mason to continue his hot streak.

With players in and out of the lineup, head coach Bobby Hurley needed one of his experienced players to step up. Mason has taken advantage, scoring 20+ points in three of his last five games. The Belgium guard has been the most consistent scorer on the roster, scoring in double figures 17 times.

In the new year, ASU’s offense has been one of the worst in the Big 12. Hurley has relied on Mason to carry a bulk of the responsibilities with heavy minutes. Mason has only played less than 37 minutes twice since Jan. 4th, showcasing his high motor.

Mason against Kansas State in the last matchup dropped 20 points and shot 40% from 3. The Wildcats struggle with limiting perimeter shots and putting their opponents on the free throw line, which Mason led the Sun Devils with six free throws made. ASU will need a repeat performance from its senior guard to get out of its rut.
