Auburn Maintains No. 1 Seed In ESPN's Latest Bracketology

The No. 1 Auburn Tiger’s men's basketball team continues to be impressive and rise above expectations this season, and head coach Bruce Pearl has his team in position to earn a top seed in March Madness.

ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi released his top 16 seeds , and the Auburn Tigers again found themselves as the top overall seed in the field.

Lunardi has had the Tigers placed as the top overall seed since he began releasing his top seeds over two months ago, and Auburn has yet to let anyone take that away from them.

Auburn looks to earn its second one-seed in program history and the first time since the 1998-99 season when the Tigers lost to four-seed Ohio State in the Regional Semifinal.

The Tigers put together an impressive win over rival No. 2 Alabama on the road Saturday to help them stay in front of the SEC regular season title race and another accomplishment to add to the already impressive resume.

Lunardi has Houston, Kentucky, and Michigan State as the two through four seeds in the same projection. The Tigers defeated Houston in their second game of the season and will travel to Kentucky before the end of conference play.

A significant reason for the Tiger's placement at the top of the seeds can attributed to their record against the other top seeds, as Auburn is 5-2 against Lunardi’s top 16 seeds and will play three more games against these projected top 16 teams.
