The Auburn Tigers managed to get past the Michigan State Spartans in their Elite Eight matchup to advance to the Final Four. Their superstar forward Johni Broome suffered a pair of injuries along the way, though, and head coach Bruce Pearl provided a concerning update on his status on Monday.

Broome picked up a left leg and right elbow injury against Michigan State, but he still managed to finish the game, leading Auburn with 25 points and 14 rebounds. After the victory, Broome made it clear he was feeling good, and that he expected to be able to take the court against Florida.

"Went back to the locker room, nothing is broken, glory to God. At that point, come back out, get on the court. What did I do? Call God. Hit a trey ball, that's all," Broome said to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 after the game.

While Broome expects to play, he's got some work to do when it comes to getting himself ready for the biggest game of the Tigers season. Pearl revealed that Broome won't practice on Tuesday, which immediately worried fans, but like his star player, he believes that he will be able to play by the time tip-off rolls around on Saturday.

"He's sore. We didn't practice today, and we'll practice tomorrow - but Johni won't practice. He's sore, but I fully expect him to play on Saturday," Pearl said per Goodman.

In 35 games for Auburn this season, Broome is averaging 18.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 51.2% from the field. The Tigers will look to advance to the National Championship Game when they face off against the Gators on Saturday, April 5, with tip-off being scheduled for 6:09 p.m. ET.
