One of the first looks at No. 1 recruit AJ Dybantsa and BYU next season will be an exhibition game against North Carolina. BYU Athletic Director Brian Santiago announced the news Friday during camp. Sources tell SB Nation's Robby McCombs the game will be at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City in late October.
BYU will play at Nebraska in a home-and-home exhibition series and then come to SLC to host the Tar Heels. New NCAA rules allowed for the matchup to happen. This will be a true exhibition game and won't count towards BYU's record. It will be a good non-conference test for both teams.
Sources also told McCombs BYU is close to locking down a SLC game with Wisconsin. There are four games on BYU's schedule that were previously announced. Needless to say, Kevin Young and the Cougars will be "Globetrotters" in the travel sense and not the famed Harlem All-Star team. They visit Lincoln, Nebraska before going to Las Vegas, Orlando, and New York City.
This will be the third non-conference affair between UNC and BYU. They met in Maui for a tournament in 2004-05 season and did a second time in Las Vegas three years later.
