The national championship battle in April between the UConn Huskies and Michigan Wolverines was a thrilling matchup that saw the Wolverines land on top.

College basketball fans won’t have to wait long for a rematch as the NCAA announced on Wednesday that the two squads will go head-to-head in a rematch to open the season in November.

As the news broke, fans voiced their excitement and anticipation for the matchup.

As the college basketball offseason progresses, more teams are beginning to release their home and away opponents for next season.

None of the matchups are more exciting that this one.

The battle will take place on Nov. 6 at TD Garden in Boston, technically making it a neutral site game. But UConn’s location on the East Coast could make it feel more like a Huskies home game.

UConn head coach Dan Hurley is likely to be out for revenge for April’s loss while Michigan head coach Dusty May will be out to prove that this new-look Wolverines squad is elite.

Ultimately, the next five months and change will feel like a lifetime for those eager to see a rematch of one of the best games of last season’s tournament.
