The Duke Blue Devils once again proved why they are the team to beat in college basketball, defeating the Virginia Cavaliers 74–70 to capture their second straight ACC Tournament championship. The victory capped another dominant run for Duke and may have secured the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
The championship game in Charlotte delivered exactly the type of drama fans expect from March basketball. Neither team led by more than seven points throughout the contest, and the game featured 16 lead changes. But when the final moments arrived, Duke made the plays that mattered most.

Freshman guard Isaiah Evans led the Blue Devils with 20 points, providing a consistent offensive spark in a tightly contested game. The Boozer twins also played crucial roles in the win. Cayden Boozer added 16 points, while ACC Player of the Year Cameron Boozer finished with 13 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists despite struggling from the field.
With the game hanging in the balance in the closing seconds, Cameron Boozer calmly stepped to the free-throw line and knocked down two clutch free throws with just 3.9 seconds remaining to seal the 74–70 victory.
Virginia made Duke earn every bit of the title. Malik Thomas led the Cavaliers with 18 points, while Sam Lewis added 17 as Virginia kept the pressure on throughout the second half. Defensively, center Ugonna Onyenso was a major presence in the paint, recording multiple blocks and continuing an impressive defensive tournament run.
For Duke, the championship adds another major accomplishment under head coach Jon Scheyer. The Blue Devils have now won two straight ACC Tournament titles and three in the past four seasons, further cementing their place among the elite programs in the country.
Perhaps most importantly, the win extended Duke’s winning streak to 11 games and improved their record to 32–2 heading into Selection Sunday. With elite metrics across the board—including rankings near the top of the NET, BPI, and KenPom—the Blue Devils are widely projected to earn the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament bracket.
As March Madness begins, Duke enters the tournament with momentum, depth, and championship expectations. If their performance in the ACC Tournament was any indication, the Blue Devils may not just be chasing a deep run—they may be chasing another national title.
