Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils are going to need plenty of help to replace the outgoing duo of Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel during the 2025-26 college basketball season. One player they will rely heavily on is five-star incoming recruit Cameron Boozer.
Boozer, who is the son of former NBA player Carlos Boozer, will have a chance to become the focal point of the Duke program next season.
According to 247 Sports, Boozer is ranked as the No. 1 power forward in the country and the No. 3 overall player in the nation. Hailing from Miami, Florida, Boozer stands in at 6-foot-9 and 235 pounds.
Adam Finkelstein of 247 Sports also provided a strong take about Boozer. It's clear that he expects the Blue Devils' incoming freshman to be a star.
"Boozer is the surest thing in high school basketball. No one can match his resume of winning or is better suited to help impact winning from day one as a college freshman," he wrote. "He has an extremely versatile and mature two-way floor game. It's just hard to envision a scenario where he's not a successful basketball player at the highest levels for years to come, which is why he is often credited for having the highest long-term floor in the country."
Now, Boozer has received a shocking NBA comparison. NBADraft.net has shared that his comparison is none other than current Boston Celtics big man Al Horford.
Horford may not be an elite player at this point in his career, but he has been a top-tier player throughout his basketball career as a whole.
At the college level with the Florida Gators, Horford averaged 13.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game in his final season, helping lead the program to a second straight national championship.
During Boozer's senior season at Columbus High School in Miami, he averaged 22.1 points per game to go along with 11.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.5 blocks in 33 games.
