The Duke Blue Devils haven't skipped a beat under the leadership of head coach Jon Scheyer.
In 2022, Scheyer took over one of the most prestigious college basketball programs in the nation, replacing legendary head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
Last season, Duke went 35-4. They finished the year with their sixth 35-win season in program history and reached the Final Four.
Duke ultimately lost to the Houston Cougars in the Final Four, after defeating Mount St. Mary's, Baylor, Arizona and Alabama.
After the season, as Duke looked to bolster their coaching staff and roster, they made a significant move to aid Scheyer.
According to CBS Sports reporter Jon Rothstein, Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils have hired former program star Tyler Thornton as an assistant coach.

Thornton was on staff at Howard last season.
Tyler Thornton graduated from Duke in 2014, helping the Blue Devils during their NCAA Tournament success, including a run to the Elite Eight in 2013-14.
Thornton is the second coach to make a move to Jon Scheyer's coaching staff during the offseason. Before the hiring of Thornton, Duke hired Evan Bradds as an assistant coach.
As Scheyer continues to make his mark as the head coach of the Blue Devils, he's been forming his staff year by year, bringing in familiar faces to the program.
Last season, Duke was led by one of the best freshman trios in college basketball history: Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach.
Flagg won the Naismith Player of the Year award and the Wooden Award, becoming the fourth freshman in college basketball history to win the Wooden (Zion Williamson, Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant).
