Ex-Bruins Center Thanks UCLA's Basketball Community Following Surprising Transfer
USA TODAY Sports

Your UCLA Bruins have quite the roster heading into the 2023-2024 season with the likes of Sebastian Mack, Adem Bona and Aday Mara all getting ready to team up along with some other notable additions. However, just like any other year, the Bruins also lost some very key players due to the NBA Draft and the transfer portal.

This happens to the best of teams and especially when you have a school as talented as UCLA that prioritizes winning above all else, roles change every season and that means that certain individuals look to move on if their own personal goals are not being met.

Mac Etienne recently announced that he would be transferring to DePaul University after he failed to truly become a key part of UCLA's roster last year. He played over 30 games for the first time where he averaged just 1.3 points in only six minutes per game.

Etienne took to Twitter to thank the UCLA Bruins community for his time there in a heartfelt message.

"Thank you to the UCLA for everything you’ve done for me from the coaching and training staff to the wonderful fan base! You guys made my experience there great and I will forever be grateful for that and my time there. I will forever have love for the bruin nation"(Via Twitter)

Even though Etienne never got a real shot with the Bruins during his time there and has now moved on, we hope he is able to carve out a larger role with his new squad. He was always highlighted by UCLA's coaching staff as a hard worker and he now has a new chapter ahead of him!
