The Florida Gators have been riding high over the last two months celebrating their National Championship win over the Houston Cougars. They even used the Orange & Blue spring game to celebrate the win by honoring them at halftime, and used the attendance of 56,563 in the same manner.
With the backcourt of Walter Clayton Jr., Will Richard, and Alijah Martin all heading off to the NBA Draft, the Gators have been looking to strengthen that group for the upcoming season, and they have done just that.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported the Gators have landed former Arkansas Razorback Boogie Fland as a transfer in the portal.

This is a huge get for head coach Todd Golden, who has seen a lot of success in the transfer portal. In fact, four of the five starters on last year's team were additions in the transfer portal.
Fland is the second major addition to the backcourt with former Princeton guard Xavian Lee already having committed to the program.
As a true freshman last season with the Razorbacks, Fland was an impactful player for head coach John Calipari. He averaged 13.5 points and 5.1 assists in 31.8 minutes per game. Bland only played in 21 games due to a thumb injury, starting 18 of them, but the former McDonalds All-American has a lot of ability.
On3 Sports' Jamie Shaw's scouting report coming out of high school says a lot about his ability, which will fit in very well with Golden's offense.
“Boogie Fland plays with a New York flair. He has a good handle and is able to shoot the ball from each level, has deep range off the bounce and will pull up if you give him an inch. He sees the floor well, gets his teammates in evolved, and takes care of the ball, valuing possessions. There is a floater game in there as well, with a one and two dribble pull-up.
“He will need to continue getting stronger, and he is a solid athlete and has average length. The confidence is sky-high, and the skill set is obvious. He has a comfort playing on the ball or off the ball in a two-guard lineup. Never afraid of the spotlight. Charismatic. He missed a lot of his sophomore season with injury.”
The Gators are in a much better spot heading into the 2025-2026 season, and Fland is likely to be in line as the top scorer.
