The Georgia Bulldogs held the No. 6 2026 recruiting class up until this weekend.
However, that changed when the team landed four-star defensive lineman James Johnson and four-star Chace Calicut.
Now, Kirby Smart's Dawgs have jumped Notre Dame to take the No. 2 spot in the latest 2026 recruiting rankings with 19 commitments since May 1st, according to On3.

With the pledge from Johnson, Georgia is currently the only school in all of college football to land two No. 1-ranked recruits at their respective positions. Quartback Jared Curtis is the other one.
Georgia’s 2026 class now features 24 commitments, with Curtis headlining the class. Ten of those commits are projected to play on offense, with 12 more slated for roles in the Bulldogs’ powerhouse defense. Other recent pickups by Georgia include two of the top special-teams prospects at punter and kicker.
Georgia currently boasts the nation’s No. 2 recruiting class and has 24 players committed to their recruiting class of 2026:
