Gonzaga Contacts Elite Scoring Guard and Son of NBA All-Star via Transfer Portal

After getting the great news that both Braden Huff and Graham Ike will return for the 2025-26 college basketball season, Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs can turn their attention to the depleted backcourt, where adding a high level scorer is a key priority.

The Zags have already been connected to a handful of high profile guards in the transfer portal, including Donovan Dent, Treysen Eaglestaff, Rodney Rice, Brendan Hausen, and Dan Skillings, and their latest target is perhaps the most tantalizing: Cal guard Andrej Stojakovic.

The 6'7 wing who was an All-ACC performer at Cal last year already took a visit to Illinois, but according to Jon Rothstein Gonzaga is among the other schools showing interest in the rising junior - alongside North Carolina, Florida, Cincinnati, Washington, and USC.

Stojakovic, son of three-time NBA All-Star Peja Stojakovic, began his college career at Stanford after a decorated high school career that included participating in the McDonald's All-American Game.

After a pedestrian freshman year with the Cardinal, Stojakovic transferred down the road to Berkeley to play for Mark Madsen at Cal, where he blossomed into an elite overall player - averaging 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 33.4 minutes per game.

The 6'7 wing hasn't been the most efficient scorer, shooting 47.8% on twos and 31.8% from three for the Golden Bears, but he was adept at getting to the free throw line and improved as the season went on - culminating in a massive 37 point performance against his old school Stanford in the ACC Tournament.

Stojakovic would perfectly slot in for Gonzaga next to Colgate transfer Braeden Smith and Virginia transfer Jalen Warley in the backcourt, rounding out a very solid starting five that will also include Huff and Ike.

The combination of Stojakovic's size and scoring acumen blends perfectly with Smith and Warley's natural playmaking abilities and the scoring touch of both Huff and Ike around the rim, and would once again give Gonzaga one of the best offensive teams in the country - with more length and switchability on defense as well.
